  Why

  I may die tomorrow

  You will not know

  You made me choose

  And I chose my love

  You were not only my son

  But God’s son too

  Your brought joy

  To the lives around you

  From the joyful beginning

  To the heartbreaking end

  I watched you grow

  Each and everyday

  One day you were a boy

  The next day a man

  You were a friend to all

  None of us will forget

  Your memories and smiles

  Will always be with us

  From beginning to end

  Your words hit my heart

  Yet I did nothing

  Your actions killed my will to live

  As the days went by

  God spent more time

  So that when we think He’s busy He sends them

  Dads are meant to love

  Not yell and abuse

  Dads are meant to protect us

  Not break us in two

  Dads are meant to teach us

  Not beat us black and blue

  Dads are meant to hold us

  Not teach us to push people away

  Dads are meant to show by example

  Not show us the wrong way

  Dads are meant to make us proud

  So we can be like them one day

  Dads are meant to be a man

  So we can marry one someday

  Dads are meant to teach their sons

  How to treat a wife

  Dads are meant to teach us things

  So we can pass them on

  Dads are meant to love us

  So we know what love is

  Dads are meant to leave footprints

  For us to follow not hands made of steel

  So we always have a lap to crawl into

  I asked God

  To send me a friend
